How To Measure A Horse Rug?

Measure from the centre of the horses chest along to the end of the rump, where you would like the rug to end near the horses tail. See the arrow on the picture above.

How Do Swish Horse Rugs Fit?

As a guide, our rugs are a standard to generous fit. We recommend sticking with your horses normal rug size. Or if in-between, go for the smaller size. Our rugs are designed to sit a little higher on the horses neck, this allows plenty of room on the shoulders. We have fantastic reviews on the fit from thoroughbred owners all the way through to heavyweight cob owners! How Can I Tell If The Rug Fits?

The rug should fit comfortably over the withers and shoulders of the horse. This is to make sure there plenty of room for movement.

Our adjustable chest straps should be tight enough to keep the rug in place, but not so tight that they restrict movement or cause the rug to pull too tight on the horses back.

Cross surcingles should be fastened so you can fit a hands width between the surcingle and the horse’s belly. The straps need to be tight enough to prevent legs becoming caught, but not so tight to that they uncomfortable for the horse.

Can I Return A Rug That Doesn't Fit?

Yes, we accept returns for items that are clean and in their original packaging.

We recommend trying rugs on over a clean sheet or towel to keep them in returnable condition.
